Traditionally held the
Sunday after Labor Day in September, the Cortland Classic is
the east coast Flemish Giant Specialty Show to bring your
rabbits to. Started in 1984, it was held at the "Cow
Palace", the
huge barn owned by Harold May. The most esteemed and
respected Flemish Giant judges were invited to evaluate the
large numbers of Flemish. In 2004, it was expanded
to a two day show, giving everyone an extra chance to put their
rabbits on the table. Eastern States Flemish Giant Rabbit
Breeders now holds its annual meeting after the show, on Saturday afternoon.
The camaraderie and fun is legendary.
