The Spring Shows are upon us, and it looks like the
Eastern States and the Texas Specialty Shows were both well
attended, and major successes. Our next big event for the
National Organization will be The Midwest Spring Flemish
spectacular, on April 7th, 8th, and 9th
of 2006. This will include our fourth-National Flemish
Giant Show, being hosted with The Regional Flemish Giant RBA,
and the Texas Flemish Giant Specialty Club. The show will
be held in Sedalia, Missouri. Hosting the show will be Will
and Christi Sutton, from Missouri, and Cowboy Charles Sikes,
from Texas. It is billed as the Show of the Century with
outstanding Southern Hospitality. Put this one on your
calendar. For information contact: Will or Christi Sutton
at 9055 SW Hwy 82, El Dorado Springs, Mo. 64744 or phone
#417-876-9229. I talked with Will the other day, and he
said everything is moving forward to plan, and looking for a
great show.
Again, I want to thank Judie
Welch for taking over the club as our Secretary /Treasure.
She has taken the job by the horns and is doing and
outstanding job. Thanks to Judy for all of her hard work,
and also to Frank for helping in every way that he can…
This Newsletter will be a good one, and the first since Judy
has taken over. You can contact Judie at 570-321-1013, or
e-mail her at
Flemishsec@aol.com .
The National Convention will be
held in Fort Worth Texas the last week of Oct. this year.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at this show. Jack
Langley will be the show Supt., and Judy Welch will be the
Breed Chairperson. Jack is presently getting the entire
hotel and banquet facilities down for us. It looks like
our head quarters will be at LaQuinta Hotel. Information
to come later. Get your nominations in right away for
Honor Roll Candidate (to Jack Lanley), Youth Recognition
Candidate (To Tom Orr), and Master Breeders Award (To Allen
Bush).
Anyone wishing to donate money
to run our web site please let me know. I want all the
Presidents of the Specialty clubs to contact me and let me
know if their Clubs are going to donate $50 per year to run
the Web site. This will give all the clubs advertisement
rights to our web site. Thanks to Cathy Caracciolo for her
dedication to the sight, and her ingenuity we are nearing
130,000 visits to this World Class Communications Tool.
Visit the sight at
http://www.nffgrb.com , and enjoy.
For all that knows John Coon,
he is our oldest living member with over 77 years as a
member of our organization. Barr anyone, he is the Legend
of our Federation. Unfortunately, I must report to you that
just after attending his last National Convention in Indy in
2005, John lost all of his eyesight. He has had to sell
his home and move into an assist apartment so that he and
his wonderful wife can get the care they deserve. John,
Our thoughts will always be with you. He still has the
same phone number if you want to call him.
Dan Roblee, from Eastern States
has passed on, and will be missed by all those that knew
him. He was a great man, and deepest sympathy to his
family. Dan was the Secretary for the Eastern States, and
during that time produced some of the best newsletters that
I have ever seen.
For the Sick members, John
Trone, (My good friend), Barb Trone, (Bad back running from
buck pee), Harold May, Lyn Bolyard, (Bad arm), John Long,
Kathy Bomia, (bad leg), and all the other ole folks. Lets
pray they get better……. It isn’t fun to be sick………………
Lets everyone get out and
attend all the local shows and Flemish Giant Specialty shows
coming up. Just to name a few will be Eastern States,
Michigan, and Ohio All Flemish Show. Check the newsletter,
and ARBA domestic rabbits for the dates on upcoming
sanctioned shows. If you are not paid up for your
membership lets get on the ball……..
Looking forward to seeing
everyone at the upcoming shows, but until that occurs may
all your nest boxes be full of grand champions. (Do not
name them Bomia’s Nightmare).
