I JUST WANTED TO SAY
THANK YOU TO:
ALLEN & TAMMY
BUSH
FOR A JOB WELL DONE
Allen has been our Sec./Treasure of the Flemish Giant
Rabbit Federation since 2001. During his tenure of 5
years he has taken the performance of this office to a
much higher level to serve our organization. It would
not be fitting to leave his wonderful wife Tammy out of
this because she also helped and sacrificed many hours
helping Allen with this Giant Task.
In 2001, I was elected
President of the National Federation of Flemish Giants.
Some thought with my election, and Roger Dent stepping
down as Sec/Treasurer., that our club was in trouble.
However, Allen Bush stepped up and accepted to replace
Roger Dent to become Sec./Treasure of our organization,
and to help me move us into the future. Little did
anyone know in 2001 what a giant positive impact that
Allen would really have on our Federation. I would say
that he was instrumental in moving our organization into
the 21st Century, and making improvements in
all areas, including service to our general membership.
It is my opinion that Allen has done more for our
organization in five years as anyone, and should be
recognized for his accomplishments.
I would like to list some
of the attributes, and accomplishments that Allen &
Tammy Bush have done in the last five years to benefit
our Federation, and it’s General Membership:
1.
World Class Web Site: Allen Bush is the
originator of the Federations World Class Web Site that
is a communication tool that has touched more people
than anyone could ever have hoped. This Web Site
presently has become the Hub of activity for our
organization, and its members with over 117,000 visits.
Presently we have near 500 visits per week. This site
not only serves our General Membership with updated
information on an ongoing basis, but also has drawn many
new members to our Federation.
2.
World Class Newsletter: Allen Bush took our
really good newsletter that Roger Dent did for years and
improved it to a World Class level that had no equal in
the ARBA circle. He personally re-created all of the
out dated forms to be much more user friendly, and the
curb appeal of the publications unequaled. (A Great
Job).
3.
World Class Guide Book: As I took office, the
guidebook was really a major task that had been
neglected, and overdue. Some thought this would deter
us from moving forward, but it did not even phase us due
to the abilities of Allen and Tammy Bush. With the
competence and hard work of Allen and Tammy, and the
team of others, the New Guide Book was delivered to the
membership. Allen did the largest part of this work.
4.
Youth Promotion: Youth promotion in the
organization prior to my term as President, and Allen as
Sec./Treasurer. was not good. Some members thought that
youth had no part in the Flemish Giant World. However,
Allen, myself, and many of the other new directors did
feel that the youth were a big part of our organization
if we were to have a future. Obviously, this was also
the opinion of our entire General Membership. Thanks
to Allen, the youth have been well represented in our
newsletters, and also in Youth Award programs, and Youth
Sweepstakes. The extra work of doing the Youth programs
had to be hours of additional work for Allen & Tammy,
but was handled very professionally, and with complete
dedication to our members.
5.
The Clubs Financial Success: Allen Bush excelled
in every area of his responsibility, and including the
most important. That was handling our organizations
finances in a responsible, and professional manner.
(What would one expect from the Controller of a major
Company). Allen did an outstanding job of setting
budgets, and insuring that all spending was held within
those guidelines. No one could have done it better.
Our Club was a financial success because Allen, many
times, did not even take all the monies due to him.
During Allen’s Five years
of service he not only did better than an outstanding
job as Sec./Treasurer. for our Organization, but also
was one of my best friends. Allen and Tammy were both
very good promoters of Flemish Giant Rabbits, and are
recognized by our Federation as Master Breeders.
Allen, will always be my friend, his dedication and hard
work, for the benefit of the General Membership, will
always be appreciated by myself, and the members of the
Federation.
I am not going into the
reasons that Allen and I discussed about why he elected
to step down from his position as Sec./Treasurer.
However, I did want to take the time to thank him for
the Major Contributions that he and Tammy have made for
the General Membership, and the Promotion of Flemish
Giants. I think I speak for Most of the Federation
Members in thanking them for a job well done.
