Domestic Rabbit Spring 2002  NFFGRB Report

National Federation of Flemish Giant

Rabbit Breeders, Inc.

By Allen Bush, Secretary

It is a great honor to submit my first article for the Domestic Rabbit on behalf of the best specialty club in the ARBA. I also have the best secretary / treasurer as a teacher, so here it goes.

We have several All-Flemish Giant shows to report. The Iowa Flemish club held two shows in November. Bambi Thomas with a Lt Gray 6/8 Buck won the first show. Doc Hall with a Sandy Jr. Buck won the second show. Dwight and Marge Westercamp received Best Opposite of Breed in each show with a Sandy 6/8 Doe. The Regional Flemish club had a show in November with Charles Ray winning Best of Breed with a Sandy Jr. Buck. Best Opposite went to Michelle Brouhard with a Fawn Senior Doe. Peoria also held a show in November with Fred Russell sweeping the top two spots with a Lt Gray 6/8 Doe and Buck. Central States held a show in December with Caleb and Jean Thomas claiming the top prize with a Lt Gray Senior Doe. Doc Hall won Best Opposite of Breed with a Sandy Senior Buck. I am please to report that an All-Flemish show was held in Japan during December with Yoshiko Fujioka winning the top two spots with a Sandy Senior Doe and Buck. In January, Jeff and Anne Mullinax took the top honor in Santa Rosa with a Fawn Senior Doe. This doe also was victorious in an All-Breed show with 1,600 rabbits. Allen and Tammy Bush claimed Best Opposite of Breed with a Sandy Senior Buck.

The top point leaders in the 2002 Sweepstakes series with reports submitted as of 02/01/02 are as follows: Bob & Lynn Bolyard, MI – 8,287; Charles Ray, KS – 7,581; Lakeside Rabbitry, ME – 5,496; Vic & Gloria Bloom, MI – 5,141; Dwight & Marge Westercamp, IA – 4,473; Jan VanEtten, NY – 4,193; Stephen’s of Missouri – 3,003; James O’Connor, ONT – 2,958; Carter’s of Pennsylvania – 2,514; Forrest Mowbray, IL – 2,414. Good Luck to all that promote our "Gentle Giants".
