Domestic Rabbit Early Spring 2003 NFFGRB Report
As I write this letter, the holiday season is over. Southern California is enjoying a very mild winter. We have had several days with very little rain and warm temperatures. However, I am hearing the rest of the U.S. has had to endure a very rough winter. I hope that everyone has good luck with 2003 Flemish Breedings. I would love to see our convention entry approach 500 in Open and Youth combined. All of our constitution changes were approved. You will find more details in the newsletter. Also, our election is just around the corner. Please request a nominating petition if you are interested in running for office. The petition can be found on the website, or request one from me. The Guidebook is progressing very well. Thank you to everyone who advertised and contributed in any way to this “Giant” effort. Please send me pictures and updates for the June newsletter. I need any articles, Rabbitry advertisements and Specialty Club advertisements by June 1st. We have nine All-Flemish Giant shows to report since the last Domestic Rabbit submission. The Iowa Flemish Club held a show in October. Doc Hall won Best of Breed with a Sandy Senior Buck and Dwight & Marge Westercamp won Best Opposite of Breed with a Sandy Senior Doe. The Iowa club also held two more shows in November. Doc Hall claimed the top two spots in the first show with a Sandy 6/8 Doe and a Sandy Senior Buck. Vic Bloom won Best of Breed in the 2nd show with a Sandy Senior Doe. Doc Hall won Best Opposite of Breed with a Sandy Senior Buck. The Central States club held two shows in November. Charles & Alyce Cook claimed the top two spots in the 1st show with a Sandy Junior Doe and a Light Gray Senior Buck. The 2nd show was won by the Clouse’s with a White Senior Doe. Best Opposite of Breed went to Charles & Alyce Cook with a Light Gray Senior Buck. In December, the WCFG held a show with Jeff & Anne Mullinax sweeping the top two spots with a Sandy 6/8 Doe and a Fawn Senior Buck. The Central States club held another show in December. Fred Russell won Best of Breed with a Light Gray Senior Buck and Dwight & Marge Westercamp won Best Opposite of Breed with a Steel 6/8 Doe. The WCFG sponsored two shows in January. The first show held in Spokane was won by Joe & Robin Gamroth with a Sandy Senior Buck. Lou & Susan Berry won Best Opposite of Breed with a Fawn Senior Doe. The second show was held in Santa Rosa. Holly Harrigan won Best of Breed with a Sandy 6/8 Doe and Jeff & Anne Mullinax won Best Opposite of Breed with a Fawn Senior Buck.
