As I write this letter, the summer is here. Tammy and I are preparing to move again. Our new address will be 10216 Churchman Lane. The rest of our address will stay the same. We are moving 1 mile from where we live now. Hopefully, more land will be better for the rabbits. Our election is coming to an end. You will be able to find results in the next newsletter. Please send me pictures and updates for the December newsletter. I need any articles, Rabbitry advertisements and Specialty Club advertisements by December 1st. We have a few All-Flemish Giant shows to report since the last Domestic Rabbit submission. A show was held in Lagrange County on May 10th. Best of Breed went to Sean Slater with a Sandy Senior Doe. Best Opposite went to Bob & Lynn Bolyard with a Black Senior Buck. The Flemish Spectacular in Columbus was held on the weekend of May 17th and 18th. Fred Russell won the first show with a Light Gray Senior Buck. Best Opposite went to the Clouse’s with a Fawn Senior Doe. The second show went to Keith & Debbie Brown with a White Senior Doe. The Clouse’s won Best Opposite with a Light Gray Senior Buck. The six show weekend in Saint Croix Falls was held on May 24th and 25th. The first specialty show went to Doc Hall with a Sandy Senior Buck. Best Opposite went to Dwight & Marge Westercamp with a Light Gray Senior Doe. The second specialty show was swept by Dwight & Marge Westercamp with a Sandy Senior Buck and a Fawn Junior Doe. The Regional Flemish Club held a show on June 14th. Todd & Kim Nettleton won Best of Breed with a Sandy Senior Buck. Best Opposite went to Will & Christi Sutton with a Light Gray Senior Doe. The 2003 Sweepstakes series is coming to a close. Reports submitted as of 08/06/03 are as follows: Charles Ray, KS - 19,710; Clouse’s of Indiana – 19,127; Dwight & Marge Westercamp, IA – 13,171; Jan VanEtten, NY – 10,027; Jeff & Anne Mullinax, CA – 8,944; Bob & Lynn Bolyard, MI – 8,924; Dr Dan Hall, MN – 8,718; Will & Christi Sutton, MO – 8,106; Allen & Tammy Bush, CA – 7,820; Bob & Kathy Bomia, MI – 4,664. Good Luck to all that promote our “Gentle Giants”. We will see everyone at the ARBA Convention. It promises to be an awesome week of friendship and competition. Please plan on attending. I would also encourage everyone to consider buying an outstanding book on raising rabbits by Dr. Chris Hayhow.
